Choirs at Westminster

Our Music Ministries include The Westminster Chancel Choir, the Youth Music Program, and the Handbell Choir.

These are overseen by Chris Holman, our Music Director.

Chris is a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has played and performed on some of the most historically important organsĀ  in North America. The winner of various honors and awards, Chris has won first prizes in both performance and hymn-playing at the Albert Schweitzer National Organ Competition in Connecticut, won the Young Baroque Artists Competition, and the Craig D. Jessop Scholarship in competition from The Chorale, all in 2010.

The Westminster Chancel Choir Rehearsals are on Wednesday from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome!

Westminster has a pipe organ with over 4,000 pipes! Our organist, Rose Marie Thompson, spends hours practicing, looking for just the right sound for each hymn. Our choir director is Randall Reyman. Randall has several trumpets that he plays to enhance the singing of hymns and for special music. Both Rose Marie and Randall are well connected to talented musicians in Decatur and draw upon their gifted friends to share their talents with the Westminster congregation. Westminster also employs several Millikin students to enrich the sound and quality of the choir.
