We are delighted to welcome Christian Wilkey as Westminster’s new Director of Music, beginning full-time on July 1, 2026.
Christian brings a rich and diverse musical background, serving currently as Director of Bands at Cerro Gordo Junior High and High School and as pianist/organist for Mt. Zion and Bethany United Methodist Churches. A 2016 graduate of Millikin University, he studied piano as his primary instrument and received formal training in organ, developing into both an accomplished pianist and skilled organist. He plays various instruments and is an experienced praise band leader.
In addition to his work in instrumental music, Christian has directed choirs, taught elementary music, and leads his school’s annual spring musical—demonstrating both breadth and creativity in music education and leadership.
Christian and his family—his wife Emily and their children, live in Decatur’s Historic District near Lincoln Park. He is drawn to Westminster’s spirit of welcome and inclusion and looks forward to helping shape a vibrant, meaningful music ministry for our congregation and community.
